Jiang Shang
In his early years, he had a rough life. He used to weave bamboo baskets and sell livestock. After repeated failures, his wife left him. Later, he met King Wen of Zhou in a unique way.
Jiang was still fish in a very strange way by that Wei river. He fish without bait. The hook was straight and did not sink into the water, but was some distance away from the surface. This unusual practice eventually alarmed King Wen of Zhou, who was thirsty for talents, and respectfully asked Jiang Shang to help him govern the country. Jiang Shang assisted King Wen and King Wu successively, and commanded the famous Battle of Muye, which destroyed Shang Jianzhou. The Book of Songs, Da Ya, has a vivid description:.. Mu Ye Yang Yang, Tan Che Huang Huang, Si Peng, Wei Shi Shang Fu, Shi Wei Ying Yang, Liang Bi Wu Wang, wantonly attacked the big merchants, and met in the Qingming Dynasty. The "Shi Shang Fu" praised in the poem is Jiang Shang, the actual commander of the war. He was later granted the title of monarch of the State of Qi, and because of his good governance, the State of Qi became a great country. Jiang Taigong, who was both wise and brave, was honored as the master of his own family by later generations of Confucianism, Legalism, military and vertical and horizontal schools, so he was known as the "Master of Hundred Schools".
