Yu 

Yu (more than 4000 years ago), a hero of water control, was the founder of the Xia Dynasty, the first slave Dynasty in China.

About 4000 years ago, there was a great flood in the Central Plains that lasted for decades, and people were displaced. Yu adopted the method of "dredging" to control the monstrous flood. In order to dredge the Huaihe River, the mountain was divided into two parts in Huaiyuan County, Bengbu City, Anhui Province, and became Jingshan and Tushan in Huaiyuan County. Dayu also married the daughter of the Tushan family in Huaiyuan and gave birth to Qi. Although there are different opinions about where Dayu came from, there is no doubt that he managed floods in Anhui and was the son-in-law of Anhui.

With the development of productive forces, surplus products gradually appeared, and the concept of private ownership gradually formed. Yu conformed to the times, established the Xia Dynasty, opened the era of slavery in China, replaced primitive society with class, replaced barbarism with civilization, and created a new social and political form of "state". In order to establish prestige and ensure the transition of the throne from the "abdication system" to the "hereditary system", Yu summoned the princes to Tushan in Huaiyuan, Bengbu, and established the prestige of himself and his son Qi in the meeting.

The three archaeological excavations of "Yuhui Site" in the western suburb of Bengbu City in 1981, 2006 and 2007 are consistent with the record in Zuo Zhuan that "Yuhui princes met in Tushan, holding jade and silk in all countries", and confirm that Yuhui Site is the place where Yuhui princes met in history, and Anhui is an important area for Yu to control the flood.
