At 14:30 on Saturday, April 29, 2017, the 43rd "Hefei Culture Lecture Hall" will be held in the multi-functional hall on the first floor of the Anhui Hall of Fame. Liu Dong, a member of the Chinese Society of Ancient Ceramics and a librarian of the Anhui Museum, will give a lecture on "Talking about Ceramics Unearthed in Hefei". Welcome.

Executive summary

Hefei has a long history and has been an important commercial city between the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River since the Han Dynasty. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, Hefei and its surrounding areas have unearthed a large number of exquisite ceramics of past Dynasties, ranging from the hard pottery of the Zhou Dynasty to the porcelain of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which are not only large in quantity and high in quality, but also continuous in time. These well illustrate that the city of Hefei has not moved much, and its location has been relatively stable for two thousand years.

In 2011, the new Anhui Museum was built and renamed Anhui Museum. Because it is located in Hefei, the provincial capital, the collection of cultural relics unearthed and collected in Hefei accounts for a large proportion, especially several tombs excavated in Hefei in the early years, such as the tomb of General Fubo in the sixth year of Kaihuang in Sui Dynasty, the tomb of Tang in the fourth year of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties, the tomb group of Baozheng family in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the tomb of Chen Wen in the twelfth year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty. Ceramics are not only the daily life utensils of the ancients, but also the exquisite works of art in ancient times. Through the appreciation and research of the ceramics unearthed in Hefei, it is helpful to deepen the understanding of the regional history of Hefei, and it is also an important witness for us to intuitively feel the culture of our hometown.
